Getting started with WCCC childcare assistance

Prepared for Amiro’s families using Washington childcare guidance and Amiro’s verified policies. For questions about your child, speak directly with Fatima.

Working Connections Child Care, often called WCCC, helps eligible Washington families pay for licensed childcare. The state decides eligibility and the family’s copay, then pays the approved provider for covered care.

Start the application with Washington State

Families apply through Washington’s official childcare-assistance process. Be ready to provide household information, work or approved activity schedules, income documents, and information about the children who need care.

  • Recent proof of income
  • Your work, school, or approved activity schedule
  • Your child’s identifying and health information
  • The licensed provider you want to use, if already chosen

Make sure the approved schedule matches your real needs

Your authorization is based on approved activity and care hours. If you need evenings, overnight care, weekends, or changing shifts, explain that clearly during the application and to your provider. Report important schedule or household changes as required so the authorization stays accurate.

Stay in contact with both WCCC and your provider

Approval is not the same as a guaranteed opening. Confirm that the provider has space for your child’s age and schedule. Keep notices, renewal dates, copay information, and attendance expectations where you can find them.

Still have a question?

A visit is the easiest way to talk through your child’s routine and decide whether the home feels right.
