What is your food program?

Meals and snacks are home-cooked and served every two hours, following USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) standards. We never serve pork, ham, or bacon. Only unflavored 1% milk is served, with whole milk for children under two. Special diets are accommodated with a written food plan signed by the parent and provider.

Every child gets a quick visual health check at drop-off. A child with a fever of 100.4°F or higher must be fever-free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medication before returning. Prescription medication is given only with written parent authorization and in the original pharmacy-labeled container.

How do you keep infants safe during sleep?

Every infant under 12 months is placed on their back to sleep on a firm crib mattress with a fitted sheet. Cribs have no blankets, pillows, bumpers, or soft toys, in line with WAC 110-300-0290. Caregivers keep infants in sight and do regular checks throughout naptime.

We guide behavior with patient redirection, emotional coaching, and calm talk, and we help children use words, take turns, and name their feelings. There is zero tolerance for physical punishment, shaming, or isolating a child.

Fire, earthquake, and lockdown drills are run and logged every month. The home keeps a 72-hour supply of emergency food, water, and first aid on site, and the director and all staff hold current pediatric CPR, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogen certification.

What do you need before my child's first day?

Before the start date we need complete immunization records (the Washington CIS form), emergency contact information, and, for babies, a written infant feeding plan. Families using WCCC are responsible for keeping their authorization current.
